How Whirlpool Dryers Are Built
Electric Whirlpool dryers run on 240 volts from two breakers or fuses, one feeding the motor and one the heating element, so a single tripped breaker can leave the drum turning with no heat. Source: Whirlpool Product Help - Dryer is Not Heating

- Noisy dryer. Level the dryer, then look for coins, pins or zippers caught in the drum, noting that gas-valve clicking is normal. Source: Whirlpool Product Help - Sounds or Noises in a Dryer
